Coastal Tower with Crashing Waves, Salento Italy - Preview

I have had several requests from members recently to do a scene featuring ocean waves crashing into a rocky shoreline.

I felt I wanted something that wasn’t just sea and rocks, so when I came across this scene with the added interest of the rustic tower, I knew it had all the ingredients I was looking for.

Whilst the tower itself has some stone-work detail, this subject is all about atmosphere and light, plus trying to capture some feeling of action in the crashing waves.

Great fun to do, especially the bit where we splatter on the white gouache.
