A really inspirational scene for this latest tutorial, The Llŷn peninsular in west Wales.
It contains many of my favourite ingredients for a watercolour landscape. We’ve got distant hills, a glimpse of the sea and plenty of boats; even a tractor!
One of my favourite parts of the scene is the dark harbour wall and its reflection in the still foreground waters, providing us with strong tonal values that almost frame the foreground.
All of this gives us plenty of watercolour techniques and fine detail to get to grips with.
