This scene is all about atmosphere and light and is full of strong, warm colours. It’s also quite topical as we head into the next season, where the days are shorter, and the trees are briefly filled with warm autumn shades.

There’s an interesting method used to create the white circle of the sun, and the scene requires both wet-into-wet techniques and dry-brushwork, with just a touch of detail to depict the extra interest of the silhouetted boat.

All in all, an exciting project to get stuck into.
