So now that we are right at the end of October, I thought it would be perfect timing for an Autumn scene.

As a reference for this subject, I chose a photo I took a couple of years ago on the shores of Derwentwater in the Lake District.

There’s plenty going on, with a background of tall trees and masses of foliage that mix greens with the rich oranges and browns of this colourful time of year.

The added interest of the boathouse, with the scattering of small boats, gives us an extra challenge, and the picture is completed with the background colours, echoed in the reflections on the calm waters of the lake.

Plenty to do, but no need to rush.
