For this latest watercolour landscape tutorial, I am working from a photo sent in by one of our members, Joy from Canada.
It’s a place Joy visited on a recent holiday to the Kau Yai National Park in Thailand.
What appealed to me immediately was the twisty, sinewy nature of the Banyan trees, which are so different from the sort of trees I am used to seeing in woodlands in the UK, and I think the way these trees and the masses of vegetation, frame the still, cool body of water in the centre makes for an excellent composition.
Lots to do as it’s quite a busy little scene, but very satisfying.
Happy Painting,
Geoff.
