Blue Door in Chefchaouen, Morocco - Preview

Strictly speaking, this picture of an old rustic doorway in Morocco isn’t a landscape scene, but I do from time to time choose this more close-up type of subject, in order to keep some variety, and present a different challenge.

Because (with the exception of the worn stucco in the upper section) this scene is more or less different shades of one colour, it gives us the opportunity to use tonal values to hopefully give it a three-dimensional quality, and pick out details like the plant pot and shadows under the arch.

I was also drawn to the way the arching plant frames the doorway and completes the picture.

I hope you enjoy tackling this slightly different project as much as I did.
