My latest watercolour landscape tutorial represents quite a change from the much busier, more detailed scene of Anne Hathaway’s cottage that featured in our last project.

Nevertheless, I think it will be just as rewarding to paint, with the lovely evening sky above the calm waters of the lake, gently lapping the timbers of the weathered old jetty.

There’s a glimpse of a resting boat, and the foreground is completed by the detail of a patch of reeds.

Even though it’s a grade 1, there’s still plenty to challenge us, and lots of techniques to practice along the way.
