A big thank you to Jim, one of our members in the US, who has sent me a set of stunning photos of a National Park near New York called the Adirondacks. I may paint a few of these scenes as projects, as they lend themselves so well to watercolour. Here I have chosen this scene with the vibrant spring colours of the trees, which contrast perfectly with the rich dark reflections in the lake. All this sets the stage perfectly for the fisherman gently paddling by, lending the scene an element of narrative.
