Even though Christmas has been and gone, I thought I'd try and keep the festive mood going a bit longer with this little winter scene of a hillside cottage.
I'm the first to admit that the photo in itself, at first glance, wasn’t very inspiring as it was taken on quite a dull day with flat light. This however gives me the interesting challenge of taking the basic composition, and hopefully making a much more colourful and appealing picture.
There are also many interesting lessons along the way, like wet into wet, dry-brushwork, and how to describe form and shape using shadow.
So that's it! The last tutorial of 2024, and I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank all my members for their support over the past year, and also welcome all the new members who have recently joined me on our watercolour journey.
