This scene is a real contrast to the fine detail of the last tutorial, rather it’s all about atmosphere, and light and is full of strong, warm colours.

It’s also quite topical as we head into the next season, where the days are shorter, and the trees are briefly filled with warm autumn shades.

There’s an interesting method used to create the white circle of the sun, and the scene requires both wet-into-wet techniques and dry-brushwork, with just a touch of detail to depict the extra interest of the silhouetted boat.

All in all an exciting project to get stuck into.
