There are plenty of watercolour techniques packed into this little scene depicting a favourite walk of mine in the Lake District National Park.

We start off with a very loose wet-into-wet background before working on the more exacting subject of the bridge.

We cover using masking fluid on a wet background, careful use of body colour, reflections in water, and dry-brush work, plus putting together a good palette to reflect the vibrant colours of spring.

Happy Painting,
Geoff.
