I’ve taken as the inspiration for this snow-scene tutorial, a photo of a winding country lane in winter which doesn’t actually have any snow on the ground.

This gives us the opportunity to use a bit of imagination and artistic license to create our own scene.

I deliberately chose this composition with high hedgerows and a puddle in the path, to introduce a bit of extra interest and colour into what otherwise would have been quite a large area of white and shadow, and I put the figure in to add a touch of narrative.

A really enjoyable and topical project.
