This quiet little creek on the Norfolk coastal path has been on my list of subjects to paint as a tutorial for some time now.
I initially came across it when my wife and I first walked this beautiful coastal route from Hunstanton to Croma over 20 years ago.
When I visited it again recently, I was pleased to see the same boat with the red Hull still resting there, slightly tilted into the soft mud, and fringed by the weathered, slightly rickety jetties that line the creek.
I like the narrow glimpse of the sky with just the distant shape of the boathouse to break the horizon and the way the horizontal composition is punctuated with the high timber posts.
I hope you enjoy painting this restful, atmospheric scene as much as I did.
Happy painting,
Geoff.
