I recently received an email from Neil, who is one of our members in Australia. Neil tells me that a particular favourite location of his is Ayers Rock, and I decided that this would indeed make a good tutorial, so here it is.
I've chosen a slightly unusual view, where we see it from a different angle to most of the images you'll find online. I particularly liked the the gnarled shape of the old dead tree in the foreground, which gives us an interesting "L" shaped composition.
Also the wonderful vivid red of the rock, contrasting with the cooler blue of the sky, and the way the hard shape of the rock, contrasts with the soft top edges of the trees that run right across the middle distance.
I think you'll really enjoy getting to grips with this one.
