Boats at Brancaster Staithe, Norfolk - Preview

I had a lot of requests on the member's forum to paint this scene, after a version of it I had painted several years ago, featured in the background of a recent tutorial.

Truth is I didn’t need much persuading to re-visit the scene, as I love this sort of subject.

I am drawn particularly to the moored boats tilted in the sand and mud, with a background of weathered sheds and huts, plus various items of boat-yard clutter.

It’s quite a busy little scene, but not too difficult, as I’ve been careful to break it down into more easily managed stages.

More importantly, though, it’s a really enjoyable subject to get stuck into.
