Observation Towers, Henlopen State Park, Delaware - Preview

I was intrigued as soon as I saw this photo of two World War 2 observation towers in Henlopen National Park, Delaware; sent in by Steve, one of our members from the USA. It's no surprise that it's an excellent photo as Steve is a professional photographer, but he told me in his accompanying email that he had tried several times to paint it, but found it challenging and struggled to get it right.

I was immediately drawn to the sharply defined cylindrical shapes of the towers, which contrast well with the slightly misty background, and just that glimpse of the ocean coming in from the right. It's worth noticing the minor changes I have made to the scene to improve the composition and hopefully draw the viewer in.
