Windmills of Mykonos - Preview

I’ve chosen as the location for my latest watercolour landscape tutorial, the Greek island of Mykonos.

This beautiful little island in the Aegean sea makes for a popular holiday destination, but perhaps the most visited part of it is this little group of windmills, perched on top of a hill just outside the town.

The subject gives us a perfect opportunity to explore the forming shapes using just shadow, plus it’s a really useful exercise in creating a scene full of vibrancy and life using only a limited palette of colours.
